It meets all the requirements of EU directive 94/9/ec (ATEX) or EU directive 2014/34/eu (ATEX) of 20 April 2016 for the use of tools and fixtures in potentially explosive atmospheres. There are also different types of protection or IP protection levels, depending on atmospheric conditions, i.e. gas or dust. In terms of safety requirements, EDR Series motors meet the requirements of group II equipment. Simply put: you can use these explosion-proof motors in gas areas of categories 2 and 3, 1 and 2, and dust areas of categories 21 and 22.
Since 26 February 2014, directive 2014/34 / EC has been applicable to devices and protection systems designated for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. This directive replaces directive 94/9 / eg.
The declaration of compliance with the new directive will not be issued until 20 April 2016.
EPL B and C (equipment protection level) motors of countries that comply with the approved IECEx certification regulations are IECEx certified.
