The traditional big gear ring is usually composed of 2 to 4 segments, which are assembled together for processing. This requires very large and expensive equipment for production, handling and heat treatment. In addition, the size of the segment is too large, which also causes defects in the casting quality and heat treatment of the gear segment.
SEW-EURODRIVE's innovative segmented large gear ring can be divided into multiple identical segments. This means that the tooth segment is short and easy to handle. SEW-EURODRIVE gear adopts the latest material design and the most advanced manufacturing method, which overcomes the shortcomings of the traditional manufacturing process and forms many new advantages.
Sew EURODRIVE uses austempered ductile iron alloy (ADI) to produce large gear rings. Traditional materials do not have the required tensile strength.
